Madm	I am desired by Mr Blackett to Answer your letter of the 5th Last respecting the Sums that are standing on the Books for Lead Sold.  Mr C Blackett & Messrs Walkers Maltby & Co owe about £12000 which they are to pay in Bills to become due in Novemr & which I suppose Mr B will apply for when he returns to N[ew]castle _ The other outstanding Debts for Lead Sold in the Course of the Summer are but small & which will not be paid untill Christmas at soonest                                             I am etc  J.S

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
