My Lady Barbara and the Exec[utor]s of Sir Wm Blackett Intending to Solemnise his funeral On Monday the 7th Inst Direct me On this melancholy occasion to Signify that your Company is Desired that day at 2 A Clock to Accompany his Corps from his house in Newcastle to St.BNicholas Church the place of his Interm[en]t as A Bearer I am yrs etc J R

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
