Sir     I am favoured with yours of the 13th instant  inclosing the late Sir Walter Blacketts Bonds to Dr Blackett for £2000 with Receipts for the Int[e]rest     I am obliged to you for explaining to him the Affair with Respect to the Int[e]rest due on those Bonds.

     Inclosed you will receive four Bills drawn by Messrs. Bell Cookson & Co on  Messrs. Hallifax & Co dated the 17th instant  _  One at a Months Date for Five Hundred Pounds on Sir Jno. Trevelyans private account of which you will please to advise him.  Another Bill at a months date for Five hundred pounds to pay Sir Edwd. Winningtons half Years Int[e]rest on the late Sir Walter Blacketts Bond & Mort[ga]ge for £25000 due 6 Feb[rua]ry next     A Bill at Twenty days date for £157.10s.0d for one half Years Composition for Weardale Tithe Ore due from Sir Thomas Blackett to the Rev Dr. Thurlow the 14th Feb[rua]ry next.  When these two Sums are paid you will please to send me the Receipts    You will I hope excuse my giving you the Trouble of this Payment as at present I don’t know Dr Thurlows Direction     The other Bill at 20 Days date for £200 is on acco[un]t of the quarterly Payments on Sir John Trevelyans account to the 31 March next for which please to send me your Receipt as usual     I am etc       J E B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
