Sir    Inclosed I send you a Bill drawn by Bell Cookson & Co on Castell  Powell & Co dated 9th inst. at a Months date for £500 as on the other side w[hi]ch Sum is to Pay the half Years Intrest due to Sir Edward Winnington 6th inst on his Mortgage on Wallington & likewise another Bill drawn as above dated 12th inst for £200 as below to discharge the Quarterly Payments on Sir John Trevelyans Acct from 30th June to 30th Sept. next.  You will be Pleased to acknowledge the Receipt of these Bills & send me Receipts as usual       I am etc        John E. Blackett .

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
