        Frith Street Soho London

Dear Sir

I wrote you the 4th instant to which refer you. I was last Post favoured with yours of the 4th instant; the Contents of which gives me great Pleasure as I am happy to find that my Conduct in the management of your Lead Concerns meets with your Approbation. You may be assured it has & shall be my endeavour to Conduct that Business, more especially what relates to the Sale of it, in the best manner I am capable of your Interest being always my first Object. I am much obliged to you for the Confidence which you are pleased to place in me by giving me a Copy of your Letter to Mr C B & asking my Opinion of it. I think it is very proper on the Occasion & that you have said no more than the Allegations & Charges in his Letter well warranted you to do. I have seen Mr C.B. several Times upon ‘Change, he has not thought proper to make the least Apology for his Behaviour to me nor for his Attack on my Character nor has a Word passed between us since the 22d April the day that I wrote you but Mr Peart has had some Conversation with him & he is as violent as ever. I am etc JEB
