Dear Sir

	Your favour of the 16th instt I received.  I observe that you have had a Visit from Forster & Westgarth.  I imagine they will be got Home.  The Assignment etc that you return’d are not yet come to hand.  Please to advise me by whom they were sent that some Enquiry may be made about them.  Mr Bell received the 6 Dozn of Rhenish very safe, it is very good Wine & I hope will please in the Summer.  Mr Bell has looked at that part of the Garden near Mr Heron’s House & has valued it at £5 a Year.  Do you approve of Mr Heron having it at that Rent?  On the 10th instant Mr Bell paid me £200 & on the 16th instant £600 on account of your Rents.  I now inclose you a Bill drawn by Bell Cookson & Co on Castell & Co dated 27th instt at 25 days date for Four Hundred Pounds; The Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge.  I observe what you say as to the Curacy of Allandale.  In my Opinion Mr Stokoe is the most proper Person to succeed to it, he will give Satisfaction both to you & the Parish & Mr Harris will be very glad to be his Curate.  No demand for Lead.
