Dear Sir       I write to Mr Noble by this Post & enclose him a Bill for £2000.  I have had some Conversation with Mr Wilson & Mr Bell about the Riding the Boundaries of your Regality of Hexham they will soon have a Meeting with Mr Heron & myself, when that Matter will be fully consider’d of & the term fix’d, of which you shall have timely Notice, but I imagine it will commence the 30th July.  Mr Bell tells me that your Stock of Port Wine is very low at the Abbey.  I have sent you a Pipe wch. I think will please you & shall send a proper Person next week to assist Mr Bell in the Bottling it; The Hogshead of Claret that I mentioned to you I expect will arrive with some others from Bordeaux in a few days & will be sent to the Abbey, it will I believe be very good, being of the first Growth of Lafite 1783.  The Price of Lead continues at £19.15.0 P For. for Common £20 for Refin’d & £20.10. P Ton Litharge at wch. Price I have sold about 5000 Ps. for the Eastern Markets, but have not yet made any Sale for the London Market it has come down to Blaydon very slowly, but I have wrote to Mr Hunter to hasten it down.  I shall meet the Lead Stewards at Hexham the 7th July & pay them the Subsistence for the Workmen.           I am etc    J. E. B.
