Dear Sir
I wrote to you the 18th instant to which refer you. Mr Bell was with me this Morning & paid into my Hands £500 on Account of Hexham Rents - he tells me your Tenants have been backward with their Rents but expected that he should be able to pay me a Thousand Pounds in a Fortnight. As I had some Money of yours in my Hands I now remit you Messrs Bell Cookson & Co two Bills on Castell Whately & Powell dated 18th instant at 30 days date
for One Thousand Pounds; The Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge by the first Post & likewise inform me what further Remittances you would have made to you.
We have still very bad Weather but I hope it will not prevent my being with you on Saint Thomas’s day. I am etc JEB
