Dear Sir      Your letter of the 6th inst, was yesterday deliver’d to me by Messrs Bryans to whom I should have been glad to render any service in my power, the Wool is at present engaged & Mr Bryans time does not permit them to go up to Hexham at present; nor to send for Mr Bell from thence, but will Corespond with him on the Business; I observe that you have come to a resolution of placing your Son with Mr Bryan at Ghent in the Cloth Trade; I sincerely wish him success.

   I had a letter from Mr Dew by the last post, the Contents of which surprise me not a little; I have answered it & hope that you will approve of what I have said on the Subject; inclosed you have a Copy of both letters, I shall send Thos. Hepple some Medicines, with a strict Charge to take the greatest Care of his health; I hope that we may get him Recruited in which Case the Bishop will be glad to accept of your Offer.   Inclosed I send a Bill drawn by Messrs Bell Carr & Cos. for £2000 of this date at One Month the receipt of which will please to Acknowledge;  Mr Ralph Carr withdraws himself from the Old Bank the 1st Jany. next, Sir John Eden & Sir Matt. W. Ridley comes into it as Partners in the room of Mr Carr & the late Mr Bell.
