Sir       Inclosed I send you a Bill drawn by Messrs Bell Carr & Co of this date at a Month for One Thousand Pounds on acct. of Sir Thomas Blackett Bart, the receipt of which you will please to acknowledge acquainting Sir Thomas of the same.  Pray when are we to expect Sir Thos. Blackett in this country.  My best respects to him if at Bretton.     I am etc    John E Blackett

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
