Gentlemn	I was favoured with a Letter from Messrs Cooper & Warner from Doncaster & I have since been informed by Sir Thos Blackett that he has agreed with those Gentlemen to sell his Moiety of Lot 4 of the Partnership Mines in Weardale to your Company for £315 you paying a proportion of the Moor Masters Rent & the Compositions for the Lot & Tithe Ore according to the quantity raised annually out of the Weardale Lead Mines under Lease from the Bishop of Durham to Sir Thos Blackett, as well as appropriation of such Fine or Fines as may arise on Renewals; I am pleased to hear of Sir Thomas’s determination & I wish you Success in the undertaking; I have had some Conversation with Lawyer Wilson of this place who is concerned for Sir Thos in his Law matter who will prepare the necessary Conveyance.  The Purchase Money should properly be paid into my hands, of which I shall acquaint Sir Thos .

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
