Sir	I am favoured with your Letter of the 20th Instt & observe the Contents;  We have not at present any Lead upon hand, nor have we had for some time past, the first large quantity is engaged to four Houses in London,  When we have any quantity that I can make you an offer off you shall hear from me, but we do not engage to deliver Lead at London or at any place from hence 	I am Sir  Your Most Obed[ien]t Servant   John E Blackett

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
