Mr. R. ordered me always to have an Acco[un]t f[ro]m the Groves of their deliv[er]y to the several Mills before I closed the Mill Acco[un]ts that if there were any difference between the Rec[eipt]s & deliv[er]y we might indeavour to rectified before they were sent to him; and as we are now closing the Yrs Acco[un]t must desire you'll give me an Acco[un]t of the deliv[er]y f[ro]m your mines to the Several Mills last year.

I wish I could prevail upon you to take D[ukes]f[iel]d in your Way to or f[ro]m N.Castle the next time you go for I would like to have a little talk w[i]th you before the Ore Carriage begin & you were saying that you would change the Carriage Men if you could meet w[i]th any other. I saw Jno Eddy last week & <... he’d W> and will take all Your up carriage upon as reasonable terms as anybody, they are good carriage Men and I der venture to say to say that if you & they agree that they will perform their Bargain - when you are here we can send for them to come & speak to you.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
