I desired you by your Brot[he]r to send me an Acco[un]t by the return of the Smelters of your deliv[er]y compared w[i]th your Stock in hand & if you had not sent an acco[un]t of it to Mr. Reynaldson that you would also send it me, but neither of these Orders you have thought worth complying w[i]th I agane desire that you'll upon the receipt of this send me the above acco[un]ts or I shall be obliged to have recourse to other methods to have my orders executed  & am

reference to brother is unclear (Richard, at Coalcleugh in early 1760s?) but Robert, the mill clerk responsible for the accounts

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
