Mr. Crawhall Allenhead Mill Dukesf'd May 14th 1768 Sr In my way f[ro]m yr Mill last Tuesday I saw the Road you are mending w[hi]ch you cannot compleat w[i]thout you have either Wain or Cart to lead the Gravel to it so have spook to Nich[ola]s Stobbs who says he’ll take a Cart against Monday next & if you could get another & have all your Smelters &c on at the same time to keep them properly going might make all the parts (that wants repairing) of that road compleat in as nothing w[hi]ch cannot be don at a more proper season then now - as you cannot conveniently attend the Men upon the above road, it would be well if your son did & am Yrs &c I H Jr
