The Ore we have got f[ro]m you this sum[m]er both to this & Allenheads Mills has (for the most part) wanted weight & I understand by the Carriers that it was owing to the Ball[ance] you had so bespook you one as <join Clared…> w[hi]ch I expect you receive w[i]th this, & if the Weight you send be bad after you get the above named Ballance, it must then be the falt of the Weight, if so I desire youll send to Mr. Crawhall for one of his 8 Stone Weights that he got f[ro]m the Foundry & you may ad to it the Weight of the Pack. Mr. W. would acquaint you that you are not to send more than one Thousand bings of Ore to Allenheads Mill this Sum[m]er  and that what you have above that quantity to be sent to D. F. Mill & am

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
