Mr. C. Hunter Allenhead Dukesf'd 25th May 68 Sr When at Rookhope Yesterday, I saw some Ore in the Com[m]on Binstead w[hi]ch Mr. Harrison said came f[ro]m Wolfcleugh very badly Wash'd it was more like topings f[ro]m the sieve then Bouse Ore, I dessay Mr. Allgood had not seen it or he would not have allowed it to been sent [struck through: ‘so badly'] in that manner, and for the Fellow (for he does not deserve a better name who lets such Ore go to the Mill) that chose to deliv'r it ought I think at the least ought to pay for the Carriage of the refuse w[hi]ch cannot be less than a third. I beg you'll desire Mr. Allgood to let no Ore be sent f[ro]m your Groves till its well dressd, for I am ordered by Mr. Richmond to give him frequent acco[un]ts how I find the Ore dressed thats sent to the several Mills & to particularise the Groves. The Ore we have already received at this Mill f[ro]m yr Mines is far f[ro]m what it ought to be, & it will be impossible for your son Robt. to prevent the Washers f[ro]m deceiving him till you make your Ore all be washed in Tub & Sieve w[hi]ch I hope you will give order to be don for the future so as to prevent any further complaints I expected to have seen you here when your Wood went down & am w[i]th Comp[limen]ts &c I H Jr
