Letter – Hugh Boag to William Corbett – 7 Mar 1740

      Ravensworth Castle  March 7th 1739/40

To Wm. Corbett Esqr



Sir

	We received yours with the Boards Minutes of the 27 Feb last which we duly Observe & in pursuance of these Commands we send you Inclosed the pticular of the expence of making the Valuation of the Materials of Dilston hall and drawing the Planns &c amounting in the whole to Twenty four pounds Eleven Shillings and three pence.

	This Expence we apprehend may appear to the Board as it did to us a great one but we Can assure you had we not assisted in the estimate and planning it would have been a much greater. It was a very tedious job & took a very great deal of time and labour which will we dare say appear to you on Examining the work and pticularly the valuation. The number of days which are Charged we know to be right; and the wages Considering the kind of work we do not think extraordinary, but whatever alteration therein the Board are pleased to make we will take Care to Observe their direction in
