Sir

There are several Division & other Hedges necessary to be made on the Derwentwater Estate this Winter with which you’ll be pleased to Acquaint the Board that we may have their early Direction as it is now a proper Season.

We intend letting such Hedges as are proper to be made by bargain or Contract from time to time, to be planted with quicks & Trees in the same manner as last year but as the quantity that will be finished this season will Depend greatly on the Weather and the prices not to be judged of till the Hedges are sett out, we begg the Board will give us Power to Act for them as we shall see best, in which the Board may be assured we shall Act with the greatest care. We are

      Sir Your most Humble Servts

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
