	In my Lres of the 5th & 16th last Month I sent you all necessary particulars about the Conveyance of Unthank Estate fm Sr Wr Bt to Mr Jno Selby and acquainted you that Mr Duane and Mr Lodge were concerned for him and you were the only person of the Law employed by Sr Wr and said that the Money was to be pd on 12th May - I also wrote Mr Geo Selby that you were the person that Mr Lodge etc were to correspond with about this Business and there I left it - How it has happened that you do not know what progress is made in this Matter I cannot tell, Nor can I know it satisfactorily from any other person than yourself however I shall write to Mr Geo: Selby Attorney in Alnwick next post about it.  I am heartily sorry at what you say about Sr Walter’s being uneasy on Accot of Corporation Business and if possible more so at what you wrote on the 11th instt about my Brother’s Behaviour to him - But I have quieted my Mind by hoping Sr Wr will not impute to me any thing on Accot of my Brother’s Eccentricity                                I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
