Inclosed you receive John Laidlers Affidavit with the Schedule annexed of Sir Wr Blacketts Estate called Green Leighton East side, which is Engross’d & sworn to according to the directions you sent down; & which I hope will enable you to get through with this busines – John Laidler could not enable me to fill up the Blank you left in the draught for the old name of Southfield.  I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
