Sir

I shall send you by the Fly Coach that sets out early to morrow the deeds for the purchase of Hexham East Ferry boat which I have got executed by Mrs Jurin and Mr Colpitts, the only parties here – I find one of the unmarried Ladies is in a bad State of Health and gone to the South part of France for her recovery but in the mean time you will please to get the other to execute as well as the married Ladies and their Husbands and if you want the form of a Letter of Attorney or other particulars relating to the Surrenders & Admittances you will write to Mr John Bell at Mr Ellis’s in Hexham who will furnish you with them – I shall send you a bill in a little time for the quarterly payments. I am etc HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
