Sir

On the other Side is a Copy, as you desired, of the Copy you sent me of George Brown’s Letter; asking leave to win some stone out of the Quarry behind Joseph Kings houses.

You did not send me the Sketch of the Piece of Ground he mentions; but I went with his Son, who then acted for him but is since dead, & viewed it, and he engaged not to take down or injure more than one little fir tree, that was stunted and of no value - The Boundes of our Corporation was riden Yesterday - I attended at Kenton & nothing was done to your Prejudice

P.S. Please think of the Abstract of Sr. Wr. Blacketts title Deeds which you were to return

                   I am etc HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
