Sir

I have this day received from Mr Robert Smith of Unthank near Berwick a Bill for Sixty pounds drawn by him on Messrs Samuel & Matt Newton of Burnop Field dated the 6th instant & payable to me or order twenty days after date. I beg you will favour me with a Line by the Bearer whether you will pay this Bill on its becoming due & am etc     HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
