1770  Octor 9    Wrote Mr Geo. Douglas at Berwick that I had a Lre [letter] from Sir Wr. last post in wch he agrees to their having his fisheries on the Tweed & the close on the terms contain’d in the memdm. signed by them datd 5 inst.  & that I desired to know whether an Act of Parliament was to be applied for this Year. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
