Mr Aislabie Examind & Corrected the Assessments he had exact Acct sent him of the value of my Ld Castlecomers Land, <&> his own, Mr Bintons & Mr Tathams, he says this present Assessment will be very Equally amongst you, none of you paying above 15[d] p[er] pound, so you need not give your selfes any trouble to Appeal, for I believe 15[d] p[er] pound is as low as any part of Ripon Liberty pays With my humble service to your Lady & Sr Richard I am Sr your Faithful humble servt

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
