I received a Letter from Mr Blackett Yesterday who desires me to answer yours, respecting a Person to succeed Mr Morrow at Blaydon, by acquainting you that he does not intend appointing an Agent there till his return Home about the 15th instant when he will pay due Attention to your Recommendation. I received a Letter to day from Mr Hunter of Dukesfield wherein he says he has sent a Plate of Silver containing 1077 1/2 oz which is not come to hand & fear something may have happened as the Waggoner Cutht Humble can give no Account of it. Please to enquire of Mr Corbeld about the Silver for I have been very uneasy. I am etc CP

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
