Dear Sir

Enclosed I send you a letter which I have received from His Grace of Northumberland, &  will be much obliged to You to let Thomas Crawhall give in my Name and Qualification to Mr Davison.  At the same time he may inform Mr <Herde> the Clergyman at N[ew]Castle that the living of Shillbottle had been promised some time before I applied <for it>.    I hope now we have got some warm weather your Influenza will leave you.  Mrs Beaumont unites with me in best respects to yourself & Admiral &Mrs Collingwood

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
