In May 2015 we were Highly Commended in second place in the Heritage category of the Constructing Excellence North East Print#CENEAwards2015 Pipped to the post by Dunston Staiths, but ahead of projects at Hexham Abbey, Newcastle’s Exhibition Park, Newcastle Central Station and the Tees Transporter Bridge.

 

 

In September 2015 we were one of four projects shortlisted in the Historic England Heritage Angels Awards, Industrial Heritage Category. Although we didn’t come home with an award, we were made to feel like winners and were commended for our teamwork by Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation who sponsored the awards.Shortlisted for heritage angels

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
