Printmaking on the 5th April

DSCF0015

There are still a few places left on the Smelters and Carriers project drypoint print technique workshop this coming Saturday, 5th April, at Slaley Commemoration Hall. The workshop with expert printmaker Jan Blaxandall runs from 10am until 4.30pm and will include a visit to the Dukesfield Arches to gather some original material to inspire the printmaking. The workshop is free but pre booking is essential via Dukesfield@outlook.com or 07513413935. All who came to the earlier workshops at St John’s Lee had a great time – and produced some fantastic work!

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
