Returning from Weardale last night enables me to forward the enclosed Bill for £1578-10-4 sooner than proposed when I had the pleasure of meeting you at Auckland. You will return the Assessment & acc[oun]t for the same in course of Post being the am[oun]t of TR Beaumont Esq’s Property Tax  for the Mines. I am etc MM

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
