Letter – Martin Morrison to Diana Beaumont – 8 Oct 1807

      I have the Honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 5th instant by this day’s Post, and beg to inform you that there are two Leases for Weardale. The Moormasters Lease, and Lease of <Inclosures> were granted for different terms the first for Lives and the latter for years, until about the year 1763 when they were consolidated by changing the Lease for years into a Lease for Lives also.

	With respect to the Bishop’s claim I can only express my anxiety that if the business is allowed to be decided by the Chancellor that greater injury may be sustained, than in the way proposed. Mr Williamson certainly considers it in this light. If in settling this most  unfortunate business money sh[oul]d be required to a greater extent than is convenient immediately to advance I do hope arrangements may be effected in making Payments by instalments, at such periods, as the Sales of Lead will be adequate to meet.

	Six Boxes of <Spar> were shipped in the Hull Packet with directions to be forwarded to the old Warehouse Wakefield.
