       I have received your several Letters of the 15th. & 29th. Ulto.. I delayed answering the former until some Agreement had be entered into with the Bank of Davidson & Co. which by a Letter that I received from Mrs. Beaumont yesterday I find to have been comcluded with them; it appears to me, to be on much more favourable Terms to Col: & Mrs. Beaumont, than those which had formerly made with the Banks of Surtees’ Burdon & Co. and with Ransom Morland & Co., but until Sir Wm. Loraine & Co. hear from Davidson & Co on this Business they cannot give an Answer as to the transacting of the Business by them. – The Balance at present in the Hands of Loraine & Co. does not exceed £300 – exclusive of some Bills which will become due the end of this Month, which will amount to about the Sum which will be required for Subsistence for the Workmen & other Payments during the Course of this Month; the same will be the Case the next Month, at the end of which I would recommend that a Balance should be struck, & the Amount of which, with the first Instalment payable at that Time by Easterby Halls & Co. be remitted to Messrs. Davidson Noel & Co. and that for the Future the Business be carried on in the Manner which you point out, provided the Bank of Sir Wm. Loraine & Co. agree to the Terms proposed by Davidson & Co.
