       Your favor of 29th. Ulto. was forwarded to me at this place where I have been a couple of days, & propose staying till the 7th. Inst. being advised to the Sea Air on account of my health having been much indisposed lately.   The questions that were proposed to me by Mr: Wilson were answered some time since through Mr. Heron &c. which I suppose Mr: Wilson has forgot, there is no end to his perplexing Queries, I do not think that he pays that attention, & lays that stress on what I think to be the principal point in dispute Viz Did HB by any deceipt or false representation say any thing to the Bishop to mislead him, or secret any thing from the enquiry of the Bishop, and by those means induce the B. to enter into the agreement?   I shall communicate the several Queries again to Mr. Heron & Mr. Losh & consult them thereon.   I have wrote to Col Beaumont this day, but I am quite a stranger as to what is doing at Hexham respecting the Volunteers raised at that place.   I remitted a Bill the 20 Inst. to Mess. Ransom, & Morland & Co. for upwards of £4,000 – that will become due about the 25th Octr. I dont think that it will be in my power to remit you a Bill for £1500 at a shorter date, when I return home I shall use my endeavour.     The Bank of Surtees’ Burdon & Co. are not likely to make a paymt. for a considerable time, nor will the House of Easterby Halls & Co. be in a state to do it, as you may observe by the Papers which I inclosed to Mrs. Beaumont in my letters to her of the 25, 27, & 2<8>.
